Juniors

Wisbech Town Cricket and Hockey club have been awarded £1000 to help sustain their work with schools and are delivery coaching in #PeckoverPrimaryschool this half term with sixty children from year three.

We have also been accepted as one of four Hockey Future’s outreach programmes! Coaches from the club are regulally going into Thomas Clarkson Academy to work with boys, girls and teachers across a range of age groups to increase participation in hockey as we approach Tokyo 2020!

Junior training is going well on Saturdays between 9am and 10am each week at the Harecroft Road Astro Turf. Some training will move indoors to the Hudson Sports Centre in November to avoid losing sessions to bad weather. We hosted the first County under 10s and 12s tournament of the season.

Please contact us for details of cost and age groups. The club have recently attracted a company to offer bursary style support to some young players throughout a season. If your child attracts the Pupil Premium for any reason get in touch to find out more about this.

Volunteer coaches from the club work closely with schools in the area to improve levels of activity for students, give them a chance to play a new sport, meet new people and contribute to social mobility.

The club continue to work with Andy Dale of #englandhockey to develop hockey in the local area.

Back to Hockey

TUESDAY 6.30-7.30pm at Harecroft Road Astoturf.

Ladies, you’re all welcome to come along and give hockey a try! If you have played a sport like florbols before you might find some similarities! There are no barriers to joining in as we provide all equipment necessary and coaching is given by Jo Gomm. Its a friendly, relaxed session from 6.30-7.30pm and will continue for several weeks through the summer.

It’s a really great way to introduce you to hockey and please don’t feel that you have to be at a good standard or ability to come and take part. If you haven’t played since school or have never even picked up a stick before, come along and give it a try. It’s all about getting active and having fun!
Were really fortunate that ‘Active Fenland’ are providing all the equipment that you would need, so all you need to do is bring yourself up to the Astroturf on a Tuesday evening…and it’s all FREE!!!

Now introducing Mens Back to Hockey

If you haven’t played since school or have never even picked up a stick before, come along and give it a try on Tuesdays 7.45-9pm.

All new participants are encouraged to personal message the club on their Facebook page to make sure they know you are coming along. First few sessions are free! Some equipment is available.
