Our Update

We are thrilled that we have managed to raise the £7,500 needed to unlock the Sports England, ‘Places and Spaces’ £10,000 grant. As of 30th March, we have had 200 supporters either donate to our page, sponsor one of our fundraisers, or claim a reward, in just over two weeks. We are incredibly thankful for all the donations and for every one of our fundraisers. If you have claimed a reward as part of your donation, we will be messaging you individually to let you know how and when you should expect to receive it.

Although this is a fantastic milestone, we still need to raise just over £12,000 before 10th May, to retain the £10,000 pledged from Sport England. If we do not raise £30,000 (which includes Sport England’s £10,000) the grant pledge will not be funded to us, even though it already appears on the Crowdfunder totaliser.

The Crowdfunder target of £30,000 will contribute towards the completion of the works being undertaken by our main pitch contractor. We will be continuing our campaign beyond this, to raise funds (potentially around another £40,000) for contingencies related to the new pitch and for various additional items including a new footpath (linking the car park and pitch), storage facilities, maintenance equipment, junior goals and so much more.

What Else is Going On?

As part of our fundraising efforts to raise money for our new pitch we have a number of upcoming events which are detailed below.

Easter Bonanza - Our Easter Bonanza is not far away on Sunday 9th April - please spread the word and get families and friends to sign up to an event, come for a drink or ‘Splat the Rat’, ‘Wang a Wellie’ or ‘Beat the Keeper’.

Our Auction - Open to the public, please take a look and place a bid or join us for the live items. You can set up a proxy bid online and we are more than happy to bid on your behalf for the live items.

Coronation Party - Please save the date for our Coronation Party and car boot on Sunday 7th May

For more information on all three of these events please visit www.wtchc.co.uk/events

Fundraisers - So far we have 31 Fundraisers across 20 different pages. But we need more of you! Time to be creative and think of what people might sponsor you for - Swampy is fishing, Jerome has been litter-picking and seven of our members are running a 10K.
